Lesley Strickland

Lesley’s range of jewellery is made from a cellulose material based on cotton oil, a material that can be easily manipulated into fluid forms. This, she successfully combines with silver to make a comprehensive collection of jewellery that includes necklaces, earrings and bangles. Her visual inspiration comes from organic forms such as fossils, crustacea and plant forms. The final finish of the work is important to Lesley. She has developed special methods of forming, polishing and matting the acetate. Some pieces are decorated with silver piqué, others combine spiral acetate forms and elegant silver elements. The aim is for the wearer to have a tactile relationship with the piece.
